Having belief can be extremely powerful. Whether said beliefs are make believe or reality has little effect on their power. As long as one truly believes in something there is great potential for these beliefs to effect the way in which we react both to ourselves and world around us.
Make believe and imagination are crucial concepts in the foundation of Peter Pan’s story. This song is an exploration into the power of belief to sustain one’s will regardless of what the reality may be. Meanwhile it also examines the the potential of holding onto moments in our past to be simultaneously heartwarming and self-destructive.
